his performance "taffy's coat tales" is suitable for the young and the young at heart.
the tale coat is unique piece of textile art, from which audiences of any age can an embroidered scene to hear one of many extraordinary tales by a storyteller, who is as unique as his exquisite attire. from inuit creation tales, african animal stories, myths and legends rooted in the valleys of the lake district, taffy's stories will transplant you to magic places.
at 8.00pm on the same evening you will also be able to see stormfool's cool gig, a one hour solo tall tale narrated by dan yashinsky, canada's leading story teller who has performed and taught at festivals throughout the world.
his tale is about a story teller who has the "best freelance job in the world". as he spins yarns for a rich recluse, he and his listener discover that the value of stories can't be measured by money.
the “cherry on the cake” is the international conference on story telling which takes place on friday, september 24th.the conference with simultaneous translation, is open to all lovers of story telling, amateur and professional, young and older! it will be facilitated by yossi alfi, the king of israeli storytelling creator, and artistic director of the festival which is in its 18th year. distinguished guests from the uk and canada, taffy thomas and dan yashinsky will join him for what will be an exciting and entertaining learning experience. for dan yashinsky this is not a first visit to israel but for taffy thomas, this is the dream of a lifetime he is so enthusiastic about being able to tell his tales in the land of the bible. "from whence the greatest tales........” originate.
