About the Israel's Storytelling Festival
|
Israel’s Annual International Storytelling Festival
will be held this year during Sukot Holidays, at The Givatayim Theatre.
September 23rd - 30th.
The festival is at the forefront of Israel’s cultural activity
for the last 17 years.
It is a unique and important cultural mega event that receives a great deal of publicity
and public attention.
Each year the festival produces more than 100 hours of radio and television programs
which are broadcasted regularly on Israeli television and radio.
This includes 4 weekly hours on national television and one weekly show on Kol Israel,
Israel’s national radio station.
Over the years the festival has showcased great stories and storytellers from around the world featuring hundreds of theatre stars, comedians, stage performers, writers, musicians, philosophers, politicians and prominent cultural figures from across Israel.
During the previous festivals the wide variety of shows drew vast audiences from all walks of life.
The creator and artistic director of the festival is Yossi Alfi, a man of the theatre, a writer and a poet, and a radio personality whose programs have been broadcast on Israel Radio for many years.
He has directed productions at the Habima, Cameri,
and Beit Lessin theatres and is a writer of stories, plays and screenplays.
The producers of this festival for the past 17 years are the Israel People’s Theatre (2001) LTD.
This company has vast experience in producing of plays, television shows, performances, artistic enterprises, social projects and festivals (including the JazzEuropa festival, the Community Theatre festival and many others).
